Faith Pioneers and Faith Carriers
Do you feel like your faith connects you to the generations of your family who came before you, or are you a Faith Pioneer, finding a faith that is different than your forebearers?
From ancestral faiths of Catholics, Methodists Mennonites, Baptists and Anglicans and probably many other Christian denominations in this country since the 1600's; and a Catholic-Methodist marriage not in either church, I came and became a Lutheran of whom my family shook their heads and wondered about my strong church ties and active involvement all these years. It was a personal thing--one's faith--which was not discussed face-to-face, but acknowledged as my own choice.. which is where I'll leave this for now.
